Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026 · Last updated: October 1, 2026
PixoCut ("PixoCut," "we," "us," or "our") operates the PixoCut application for iPhone and iPad and related services at pixocut.com and api.pixocut.com (collectively, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, and password (stored by our servers in hashed form).
- Registration choices: confirmation that you are at least 13 years old, and whether you opt in to product news and tips by email.
- Music you upload to the App library: the audio file, track title, optional artist name and tags, the version of the PixoCut Audio License you accepted, and your confirmation that you own the rights to the audio.
- Reports and blocks: the reason you choose when reporting a track, and the uploaders you block.
- Account deletion feedback: the optional reason you give when deleting your account.
- Support and copyright communications: information you send when contacting support or submitting a copyright notice or counter-notice (for example, name, email, address, phone number, and message content).
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Subscription and purchase data: product identifiers, transaction identifiers, subscription status, trial status, and renewal dates, processed through Apple and synced with our servers.
- Authentication data: access and refresh tokens used to keep you signed in.
- Service logs: IP address, request times, app version, and error information recorded by our servers when the app communicates with them, used for security and troubleshooting.
- App library activity: records needed to run the library, such as tracks you stream or download, upload status, copyright-check results, reports received, and strikes on your account.
- Crash reports: if you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports and diagnostics. PixoCut does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
1.3 Information on your device (with your permission)
With your permission, the app may access:
- Photos and videos — to add visuals to your projects and to save exported videos to your library.
- Music library — to let you pick music stored on your device.
Beat detection, previews, and video rendering happen on your device. The photos, videos, and music you use in a project are not uploaded to our servers to build your video. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings at any time; some features may not work without them.
1.4 Advertising
PixoCut does not show ads and does not use your information for targeted advertising.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- Run the App library, including storing, checking, publishing, streaming, and removing uploaded music.
- Check uploaded music for copyrighted recordings, respond to copyright notices, and enforce our repeat-infringer policy.
- Process subscriptions and maintain entitlements.
- Send service emails (for example, email verification and password reset).
- Send product news and tips only if you opted in (you may opt out at any time).
- Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Service, and respond to support requests.
- Enforce our Terms of Service and comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Other PixoCut users — tracks you publish to the App library, including the title, artist name, and tags you enter, are visible to and usable by everyone on PixoCut.
- Service providers that help us operate the Service, such as Google Cloud (API hosting, databases, and storage of uploaded music), Cloudflare (the pixocut.com website), and Mailjet (email delivery), subject to confidentiality obligations.
- AudD — music you upload to the App library is sent to AudD, a music-recognition service, to check whether it matches a known recording. AudD processes audio under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Apple — for App Store purchases, subscription management, and App Store Server Notifications related to your subscription.
- Copyright claimants — when required to process a DMCA counter-notice, we may share the information you provide in it with the person who sent the original notice.
- Legal and safety — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the Service.
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you.
4. Data storage and retention
- On your device: projects, imported media, beat analysis, edits, and exports are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad unless you save or share them elsewhere.
- On our servers: account credentials, subscription data, email opt-in records, App library uploads and their metadata, reports, blocks, and support correspondence are stored on servers operated by us or our hosting providers. We do not keep a cloud backup of your projects.
- Rejected uploads: audio rejected by the copyright check is kept for a limited dispute period described in our Copyright Policy and then deleted.
- Deleted tracks: when you delete a published track, it is removed for new users. Records needed to show that existing videos were licensed may be retained.
We retain information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You can delete your account from the Account screen in the app, or by contacting support@pixocut.com. Deleting your account does not remove projects stored on your device and does not cancel an App Store subscription.
5. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections and private storage for uploaded audio. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
7. Your rights and choices
Where required by law, we rely on contract performance to provide the Service, legitimate interests to secure and improve the Service and protect rights holders, and consent for optional marketing emails. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, delete, or port personal information we hold about you.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (for example, marketing emails).
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, email support@pixocut.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Marketing opt-out: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us.
Device permissions: manage Photos and Media & Apple Music access in Settings → PixoCut on your device.
Apple subscriptions: manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device.
8. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise CCPA rights, email support@pixocut.com. We will verify your request before responding.
9. International transfers
If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your country.
10. Third-party links and services
The Service may link to third-party websites or services (for example, the App Store or an artist link on a track). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information to them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at https://www.pixocut.com/privacy and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
