PixoCut Copyright Policy

Draft pending legal review.

PixoCut respects the rights of creators and responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Audio uploaded by users is licensed under the PixoCut Audio License.

Reporting infringement (DMCA notice)

Send a written notice to our designated agent that includes:

Designated agent:

[DMCA designated agent name and postal address] Email: copyright@pixocut.com

You can also report a track in the app. We remove infringing audio promptly and block it from being uploaded again.

Counter-notice

If your audio was removed and you believe it was a mistake or you are authorized to use it, send a counter-notice to the agent above with: your signature; identification of the removed audio; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and telephone number; and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, outside the United States, any judicial district where PixoCut may be found) and to accept service from the person who sent the notice. We may restore the audio 10 to 14 business days after receiving a valid counter-notice unless the claimant tells us they filed a court action.

Automatic rejections

Uploads are scanned by a music-recognition service and rejected when they match a known recording. If your upload was rejected but you own the recording (for example, you are the matched artist or you have a license), email copyright@pixocut.com within 14 days with the track title and proof of your rights. After that the rejected audio is deleted and you would need to upload it again.

Repeat infringers

Each upheld copyright notice is a strike against the uploader, and repeated automatic copyright rejections also add strikes. Accounts that reach 3 strikes lose the ability to upload audio, and we may terminate accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
